1. Keep It Simple

A memorable logo needs to be instantly recognizable, conveying the brand’s ethos and personality with just a glance.Whether you opt for a recognizable object, animal or company initials, don’t be too ambitious with the visual complexity of your logo. Remember people will only be looking at it for a matter of seconds.

2. Think Globally

Even if the company is starting small and targeting just the local area, designing a logo with appeal in a wide range of countries will help it remain relevant to a global audience, and enable expansion possibilities in the future. Many logos may work in some countries, but be offensive or irrelevant in others. Creating a logo with universal appeal means thinking of an item or color scheme that is associated with positivity for people from a wide range of cultures.

3. Vary the Background

You may want to create your logo using the brand’s main color scheme, but it’s good to keep it adaptable in case you require it to be used on a third party website or publication and thus require a different background color to be applied. Think firstly about creating two versions of your logo – a light logo on a dark background and vice versa but then build this out to include a range of different color combinations.

4. Pick Your Colors Carefully

Thinking carefully about your color scheme is an extremely important part of how your business is perceived. Having a strapline that easily fits in with your logo will make formatting any future branding much simpler.

8. Target Your Audience

It’s very important to be aware of the organisation’s target demographic before you start designing the logo. Red Bull’s bright logo appeals to young people interested in an active lifestyle, whilst Ralph Lauren’s polo player gives off a luxury feel which attracts individuals within that demographic. INTRODUCTION

Advertisement come from latin word “ad vertere” which means “to turn toward”. Advertisement is a message to promote or sell a product. It is a non personalmessage , not directed to the particular person. It is audio or visual form of marketing communication. Advertisements are usually are sponsored by particular company or businesses who particularly want to promote their product or services. Now-a-days advertisements have become an important part of the marketing world. Advertisements are made so attractive that it must grab the attention of the consumer or other people. Advertising is communicated through various mass media including old media such as newspapers, magazines, television,radio, outdoor advertising or direct mail; or new media such as search results, blogs, websites or text messages. The actual presentation of the message in a medium is referred to as an advertisement or “ad”.

Advertisements are mainly of two type commercial advertising and non-commercial advertising. Commercial advertising is mainly used by companies to increase the sale of their consumer products.For example. Lux cozy, nivea, himalya, patanjali etc. non-commercial ads are those which were used to promote services rather than consumer products. for example: services provided by hospitals, banks, religious organisations or government agencies.

HISTORY

In ancient times egyptians used papyrus (a kind of paper used for writting purposes) for sale or promotion. In china bamboo sticks were used to sell candies. Slowly middle ages began to grow and people were used to recognised the signs or symbols that are related to their needed products like cobbler,watch, goods, utensils etc. vegetables are being sold by street callers who used to announce their products to the customers. In eighteenth century ad world will introduce to printing press which make advertisements easily to print and use. in 20th century AD advertising is dramatically increased in united states for industrialization. DEMERITS

Advertisement area the powerful enough to fullfill the needs of the society. But still it has some sort of critics. Here are some of the disadvantages of advertising:

1. COST

It costs high .componaie spent lots of money to advertise their product which effects the cost of the product.. Companies spend thousands of ruppes to advertise their single product but once advertisement published in the market. It cannot be repeated again and a new concept must be used for the next advertisement. Thus it costs high to the unestablished companies.

2. WASTAGE

Some people think advertisement is a wastage of time and money. Advertisements are for limited time it may not be published for longer time as people may get bored by seeing one advertisement again and again. Some people ignores or skip the ads by which the purpose of advertisement will get achieved.

3. DISTRACTIONS

hoardings, banners or neon boards which were being published on main roads are causing distractions for people. Which divert their minds are may cause accidents.

4. SPAMS

Some advertisers cleverly create misleading impressions of their goods. They did not present the actual image of the product. They present the good image of the product to increase the sale.

What is color ?

After reading alot about colors what i got to know about it is Color refers to reflected light which is known as element of art. Whatever we feel about an object, color has an affect over it. Colors can change our mood, it can attract our attention. We usually associate colors with feelings and emotions. Each and every color plays an important role in designing which has its own meanings.

Color Modes

I got to know about 3 main modes of colors that are listed below :

1. CMYK

Cyan Magenta Yellow Black

CMYK is chosen for printing purposes.

2. RGB

Red Green Blue

RGB is chosen for displaying or viewing purposes.

3. Lab Colors

L stands for lightness A stands for and B stands for the color opponents green-red and blue-yellow.

How colors plays an important role in designing ?

I read some articles on this topic and i think Color plays a major part in giving your brand a proper face which helps in reflecting your brand. How so ever your brand is presented in public, it will be reflected through colors. And hence color is one of the most important part of a making a brand. Colors of a brand must be so strong that they describes everything about the brand visually. Be it a small brand or a big brand colors should be chosen wisely. When looking at color options for your brand it’s always best to take a look at other brands to get a clear idea on how color schemes play an important part. According to me this is really important.

Meaning of Colors

According to me, different colors have different impacts on the targeted audience for a particular brand.

HUE

Hue refers to pure color or we can say hue is primary value of a color which is perceived through our eyes.

SATURATION

Saturation describes the intensity of the color. Colors which appear dull to us are called s desaturated.

VALUE

Value is the lightness or darkness of color. When black is added to the value its called ‘shades’ and when white is added to the value its called ‘tints’.

Brand Identity Through Colors

As i read quite much about colors , they helps a brand to stand out in crowd. Right choice of color used by a brand can lead to its success while bad choice will lead to the failure. It is analyzed that 33% of brands uses blue color for their brands, 29% uses red, 28% uses black or grayscale, 13% uses yellow. 95% of the brands uses only 1 or 2 colors for their brand and rest 5% uses more then 2 colors. Colors can increase brand recognisation by upto 80%. I would also say color shows the personality of a brand in front of its customers.

How to Use Colors

See aftering reading about colors it is really important to choose the proper color for your brand. Some of the colors are mentioned below :

RED

color can be associated with passion, aggression, power, love. We can also see use of red color in restaurant’s menu cards which eventually increases the hunger .

YELLOW

shows positivity, creativity, warmth, light, motivation. Yellow is a bright color which is quite catchy for viewer’s eyes.

BLUE

is one of the most used color in brand creation and identity. Its is a cool colors which shows calmness, security, integrity, trustworthiness, dependability.

GREEN

is synonymous with calm, freshness, health,wealth. Lightr shade of green is associated with serenity.

Orange

combines with the brightness of yellow with the boldness of red and makes a fun color that is full of life. This color shows vitality, playfulness, youthfulness.

GREY

color is used in multiple industries, shows cool temperatures, innovation and science. Its shows balance, calm, maturity, cold.

WHITE

represents cleanliness and purity. It is often used in laundry industries. This color shows purity, softness, freshness, peace.

BLACK

shows classic and sophistication. Black works best for the companies to promote luxury. It shows prestige, value, timelessness, formality and sophistication.

What is Typography?

Typography is a style to write something. It’s actually everywhere we look at, in our everyday life, while surfing internet , while reading books even while you all are reading this ; its typography and ofcourse we do it all the time. What i feel is that typography is one of the most important element of designing , including the fact that it is a very vast subject matter. All you have to do is know a little for making bigger and better differences.

How to classify Typography?

According to my study and research we can classify typography into three major categories :

1. Serif

2. Sans Serif

3. Decorative Fonts

So some basic and common types of fonts are these three , mentioned above .

What you need to know about these fonts?

Serif fonts have little strokes which are known as Serif which are attached to the main part of the letter. Like we have Slab Serif , Basic Serif , Old style Serif and so on.

Sans serif fonts do not have that extra strokes , the name describe itself ‘Sans’ which means ‘without’. These can be condensed or narrow and can be light , regular , thick , extrathick.

Decorative fonts comes in many different styles . In these we have unlimited fonts. No strict rules are followed for decorative or fancy fonts. Some Famous types of decorative fonts includes brushed, script, cursive, fancy, etc.

Which font suits the best for your brand?

Ok so i think to explain it’s answer an example would work the best here. Let me show you some famous brands as an example. On the left side we have the existing typography and on the other side we have used fonts which are worst for these brands. Now, They will help you to understand why you should use a good and correct font for your brand. You can compare them and see the difference.

According to my knowledge it is really important for us to study about the typography. It plays a major role in designing. A right font will always help you to enhance your work.
